HERB'S BIOGRAPHY

Herb Bruce is an accomplished professional trombonist who has performed for millions of people throughout the world during his career.
As a staff musician and band leader for Walt Disney World, Herb performed with and led multiple Disney ensembles, from small groups to full size orchestras. He also performed in countless Disney Studio recording sessions.
Herb has performed with Bob Hope, Jimmy Dorsey, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme’, Wayne Newton, Nelson Riddle, Liza Minelli, The Four Freshman, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Al Hirt, Burt Bacharach, Bernadette Peters, Les Brown, Jackie Evancho, Amy Grant, Buffalo Symphony Louisville Orchestra, Venice (FL) Symphony (Principal) The Sarasota Orchestra, The Orlando Symphony, The Florida Orchestra, and sports ensembles including: The Green Bay Packers Band, Harlem Globetrotters, Atlanta Braves, Kentucky Colonels (ABA), Memphis Grizzlies (WFL), and Hector "Macho" Camacho. Herb also toured with Frank Sinatra, Jr., Tommy Dorsey, Michael Feinstein, Boots Randolph, The Nashville Brass, The Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band, The Dukes of Dixieland, Spiritual to the Bone, Premiere Salvation Army Brass Bands and The Central Florida Brass Band.

Herb has also recorded with The BackStreet Boys, Hank Williams Jr., Boots Randolph, The Nashville Brass, and on television and movie scores for ABC’s Wide World of Sports and Country Music Association Awards Show Dove. Additionally he has performed on many awards shows, including: The Dinah Shore Show, ”Shazaam” - starring Shaquille O’Neal, Ringling Brothers Circus Specials, Nashville Now, Nashville Tonight, and the Siskel & Ebert 500th Show Anniversary Show ”What Comes Around”, starring Jerry Reed.
Herb had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army with service as the Staff Officer/Reserve liaison in the office of the Chief - US Army Bands, Director of jazz ensembles for the 202nd and 440th Army Bands, and three staff tours at the The Navy School of Music, Little Creek, Virginia. Among his numerous contributions to music education as a clinician and performer, Herb has worked as the Assistant Director of Bands for Vanderbilt University and an Instructor of Trombone at Blair School of Music. Herb has been an Artist Representative for Boosey & Hawkes Company, the Mirafone Corporation, and the Lawler Trombone Company. Now Herb proudly represents Herb Bruce Custom Trombones! |
